SRI LANKA VISA

Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) is an island nation south of India in the Indian Ocean. Its diverse landscapes range from rainforest and arid plains to highlands and sandy beaches. Visitors to Sri Lanka visiting for tourism purposes must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), unless they are exempt, prior to arrival or on arrival to Sri Lanka or they must obtain a visa in advance. Citizens of the following 21 countries must obtain a visa in advance from one of the Sri Lankan diplomatic missions: Afghanistan, Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Myanmar, Nigeria,  North Korea, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Syria, Uganda. All visitors must hold a passport valid for 6 months.

LIST OF COUNTRIES ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE SRI LANKA VISA

Citizens of countries are allowed a maximum stay of 60 days: Seychelles (60 days, up to 90 days in a single year)

Citizens of countries are allowed a maximum stay of 30 days: Maldives (can extendable to 150 days), Singapore (can extendable to 150 days)

Citizens of the following 21 countries must obtain a visa in advance from one of the Sri Lankan diplomatic missions:

Afghanistan, Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Myanmar, Nigeria,  North Korea, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Syria, Uganda.

TYPE OF SRI LANKA VISAS

1. Tourist Visa
2. Business Visa
3. Transit Visa
4. ETA Visa for double entry for 30 (thirty) days

APPLICANTS HAVE TWO OPTIONS

• Option A: Regular Visa applies at any Sri Lanka Overseas Mission
• Option B: Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)
• Option C: ETA Visa on arrival

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR SRI LANKA VISA APPLICATION

All visitors to SRI LANKA must submit:

1. Original passport valid for at least 06 months from the date of entry into SRI LANKA and still has blank pages;
2. 2 passport photos in 3,5x4,5 cm size white background, must be taken within the last 6 months;
3. A copy of Vietname temporary residence card, work permit applied for foreigner working  in Vietnam;
4. Application form signed by the applicant;
5. Return air ticket.

For business purpose, please provide following documents:

1. For business owners: Notorized true copy of Business Registration Certification;
2. For employees: Notorized true copy of Labour Contract, original Letter of business decision, Recently pay-slip 3 months.
3. A invitation letter from company in SRI LANKA
4. A copy of ID from inviter.

PROCESSING TIME

The visa processing time is from 3 to 5 working days

VALIDITY OF VISA

The duration of stay are determined/ confirmed by the SRI LANKA Embassy or Consulate, the popular visa term is 3 month single entry and allows a stay of up to 30 days

IMPORTANT NOTES

For stay in Sri Lanka for more than three months:

The sponsoring agency or company in Sri Lanka needs contact the Controller of Immigration and Emigration in Sri Lanka and arrange to send the approval for issuance of visa to Embassy Of The Democratic Socialist Republic Of Sri Lanka in Hanoi or submitted directly to the Visa Section of the Department of Immigration (head office) by visiting the Department.
